Frequently Asked Questions

Maybe you find an answer below, otherwise ping us an email.

For a user will there be some sort of installation required to use OneSocialWeb?

Most likely not. This will work very similar to email. Today you can pick your email provider (e.g. from school, work or a webmail provider) and you can use common tools like Outlook or the web to access your email. You are normally not aware nor concerned about the language used to send email back and forth.

In our vision you can pick any OneSocialWeb enabled social network and communicate with friends on other networks. You would not notice that OneSocialWeb is running in the background. Depending on the network and your preferences, maybe you install an app on your desktop or mobile phone, but all in all that's the same as how you use your social network today.

We will offer an experimental social network over the Summer for people to play with. Please check the website or our twitter account to learn when it's released.

Will it work with my current social network?

Any social network could decide to join or not. It's good to let them know if you think they should join OneSocialWeb. We will keep you posted on the ones that do.

My social network has not joined OneSocialWeb, will I at least be able to import my data?

This is obviously very important, since nobody wants to loose their data. It depends on the social network how easy (or complicated) this is. We focus first on the common language, website and mobile client. Then we will think about how we can get your data inside OneSocialWeb.
